Mr. Hoberg is the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Vista Wireless. Prior to joining Vista Wireless, Mr. Hoberg served as CEO of United Online. United Online is a fixed wireless and ASP (Application Service Provider) company in Denver, CO. Mr. Hoberg structured a deal to jointly sell broadband satellite and broadband fixed wireless products with a leading satellite company.
Prior to joining United Online, Mr. Hoberg served as Chief Financial Officer and Senior Vice President of Finance and Administration of EarthLink (NASDAQ: ELNK). EarthLink is one of the world’s leading Internet service providers with more than 3.2 million customers. While at EarthLink, subscriber growth grew from 400,000 to 3.2 million and net income before sales and marketing grew from a loss to +35% of revenue. EarthLink also acquired Sprints Internet business and merged with MindSpring to create the second largest ISP.
Prior to joining EarthLink, Mr. Hoberg served in a variety of leadership positions at Tele-Communications Inc. (TCI), including CEO of AND Interactive (products included Internet games, Internet content and Internet tools) and Vice President of Business Operations for TCI.NET. Mr. Hoberg had significant roles in the development and roll out of the @Home broadband Internet access for consumer and business customers over TCI’s cable infrastructure.
Mr. Hoberg received his bachelor’s degree in accounting from the University of North Dakota. Mr. Hoberg earned his MBA in Finance and Management Information Systems at the University of Denver.
